- Based on your reflections, and on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being optimal wellbeing), where do you rate your A-physical wellbeing, B-spiritual well-being, C-psychological well-being?Physically I would give myself a 5 because I am overweight and tend to ignore what that does't to my health and I have high blood pressure. Spiritually I would give myself a 8 I have a lot of faith in the higher power and practice daily prayers and spiritual reading. Psychological well I will give myself a 5 there as well, there are things in the past that I have buried deep but probably need lots of work to overcome.
- Develop a goal for yourself in each area (physical, spiritual, psychological). Physical goal would be to lose 50lbs and get off the blood pressure medicine by the end of the year. Spiritually I am changing shifts at work in April and will no longer be working every weekend and It would be so nice to return to going to church on a weekly bases instead of whenever I happen to get called off. Psychologically I have no idea what to do about that because I am of the mind that the past is best left alone (at this point in my life but it is subject to change).
- What activities or exercise can you implement in your life to assist in moving toward each goal? Physical-have already started walking daily to help with this goal. Spirit- like I said going to start back to church regularly when my schedule changes next month and I cant wait. Psychological- going to re-evaluate my stance at the end of the year.

Donna,
ReplyDeleteYou know, we are all our own worst critics. This was a tough one for me to do because how I see myself may not necessarily be how others see me. But I really like that you aren't really tough on yourself. You know that there are improvements that need to be made in certain areas and when you made your goals, they were realistic. That is really important. Sometimes people set goals that are too challenging or way out of reach and it just sets them up for failure. I have done it myself. Sometimes it takes small steps to get started but it's a start. Congratulations on your daily walking as you work toward your goal. You can do it. I wish you well and success as you progress each day to what you strive to reach. Take care.

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteI have recently lost a lot of weight myself, so I want to tell you that through determination and self worth I have been able to get almost to my goal weight. I am so pleased that you want to lose weight to simply benefit your health. You won't believe how much better you feel when you achieve your goal. I am more than happy to be a cheerleader for you along the way! Go for it!!

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteI have also made an effort to attend church more regularly. Though it has posed a challenge in the past, because of work and other things, I refuse to let anything prevent me from doing this. Furthermore, reaching this goal will have a positive impact on not only my physical wellbeing but also my psychological wellbeing. It is important that we set obtainable goals. This makes us more likely to work towards them and reach them. Good luck on reaching your goals.
